NUTRITION
Eating small meals throughout the day helps to stimulate
your metabolic rate and stabilize your insulin levels. Four to five small
meals per day are recommended to supply energy and avoid hypoglycemia (low
blood sugar). Eat slowly and stop as soon as you feel full.
As a general
rule, avoid processed foods whenever possible and keep refined sugars to
a minimum.
Fill your diet with wholesome foods such as oatmeal, cream of
wheat, brown rice, egg whites, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Drink
lots of water—8 to 10 glasses every day
is recommended! If that seems difficult, try keeping a bottle of water on your
desk at work and sip throughout the day.
Vitamins are also important to ensure
that ample nutrients and minerals are delivered to the body.
