AEROBICS
For general weight maintenance and cardiovascular health,
a minimum of three 30 minute aerobic workouts every week is recommended.
To reduce body fat, you should complete four or more 30 minute
aerobic workouts every week. Yaz does a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio
every day. Although she no longer enters bodybuilding competitions, Yaz
regularly competes in running events. When she is in-training, Yaz increases
her aerobic workouts based on the distance of the upcoming race.
Contact Yaz if you would like her to tailor a unique aerobic program that
fits your fitness goals and body type.
Warming-up and stretching before and after each exercise session is also
necessary in order to avoid muscle strains and related injuries. A proper
warm-up increases blood flow, raises the body's temperature approximately
one degree, and produces a mild sweat. Yaz recommends 5-10 minutes of aerobic
activity at medium intensity before beginning every workout.

Because optimal workout intensity depends on many factors and varies for
each individual, it is critical to monitor your heart rate, especially for
beginners (see the accompanying easy-to-use chart for target heart rates).
